Student Pathways
Start with where you are and what you need. CEOP can help connect you with the right program, person, resource, or next step.
CEOP programs are connected. A student might first meet us through college outreach and later return through orientation, mentoring, academic support, undergraduate research, or graduate-school preparation.
This page helps students, families, and campus partners find a good starting point. You do not need to know which CEOP program is the perfect fit. Begin with the situation that sounds most like you, and we can help identify the next step.
Students rarely move through college in a straight line. Your needs may change over time, and you may connect with several CEOP programs throughout your journey.
Start With What You Need Right Now
Choose the situation that most closely reflects where you are today.
I Am Exploring College
Maybe college feels far away, confusing, or possible but difficult to picture. CEOP helps students and families learn about college, financial aid, admissions, and what it means to become a Lobo.
Possible Connections: College Prep Programs, Educational Opportunity Center, campus visits, family outreach, summer programming, and college-awareness events.
I Am Applying or Coming Back to School
Whether you are applying to college, returning after time away, completing a GED, or trying to understand FAFSA, admissions, or enrollment steps, support is available.
Possible Connections: Educational Opportunity Center, admissions assistance, FAFSA guidance, enrollment support, and referrals to university or community resources.
I Am New to UNM
Starting college comes with many moving pieces. Orientation, academic advisement, registration preparation, family support, peer connection, and early outreach can help students begin with greater confidence.
Possible Connections: New Student Orientation, Family Connection, College Enrichment Program, Lobo Companions, student-engagement events, and first-year transition support.
I Want Connection or Academic Support
Students are more likely to succeed when they have people who know them, encourage them, and help them address challenges before those challenges become larger barriers.
Possible Connections: College Enrichment Program, Student Support Services, Lobo Companions, mentoring, tutoring, Peer Learning Facilitators, study sessions, and student-success referrals.
I Am Interested in Research or Graduate School
Undergraduate research, faculty mentorship, conference participation, and graduate-school preparation can help students discover new possibilities and prepare for advanced study.
Possible Connections: McNair / Research Opportunity Program, faculty mentors, undergraduate research, the McNair Research Conference, and graduate-school preparation.
I Am a Family Member or Campus Partner
Families, educators, advisors, faculty, staff, and community partners play an important role in student success. CEOP can help connect a student with the right program, resource, or next step.
Possible Connections: Family Connection, New Student Orientation, CEOP staff, student referrals, campus-wide initiatives, and collaboration opportunities.
Not Sure Where to Begin?
That is completely normal. Contact CEOP and tell us what you are working through. We will help you identify a starting point and connect with the people or programs that can help.
