Campus-Wide Initiatives
CEOP brings students, families, faculty, staff, campus offices, and community supporters together throughout the year.
Some initiatives welcome students to UNM. Others help students succeed in their classes, celebrate important milestones, share their research, work through registration barriers, or receive scholarship support.
Together, these efforts show how CEOP’s work moves with students across the academic year.
A Year of Connection, Opportunity, and Support
These initiatives are presented in the general order they occur, beginning with summer orientation and continuing through spring registration support.
New Student Orientation & Family Connection
New Student Orientation welcomes incoming Lobos and helps students prepare for advising, registration, campus life, and their first semester at UNM.
Family Connection gives parents, family members, and supporters information they can use as students begin their college journey.
El Mezquite Golf Tournament
The annual tournament brings community partners, sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and UNM supporters together to raise scholarship funding for students.
The event shows what is possible when the university and community invest in students together.
CEP Welcome Back BBQ
The College Enrichment Program Welcome Back BBQ creates a relaxed space for new and returning students to connect with one another, meet faculty and staff, and learn about campus resources.
The event is open to the UNM community, with a special focus on welcoming the newest members of the Lobo pack.
UNM McNair Scholars Research Conference
Undergraduate scholars from across the country come to UNM to present research, receive feedback, meet graduate-school recruiters, and connect with other emerging scholars.
The conference gives students experience sharing their work while helping them prepare for graduate education.
PLF Study Sessions
Peer Learning Facilitators offer study sessions, exam preparation, and additional academic support for students enrolled in PLF-supported courses.
Students receive help from trained peers who have successfully completed the course and understand where students may need additional support.
'Class of' Banner Reveal
New students sign their class banner during orientation. The banner is later revealed to celebrate the class and the community students began building together.
The banner hangs in the SUB atrium and becomes a visible reminder that every incoming class has its own identity, story, and place at UNM.
First-Generation Celebration
UNM celebrates first-generation students, alumni, faculty, staff, and families through events, storytelling, recognition, and campus-wide programming.
The celebration creates visibility, pride, and stronger awareness of the experiences first-generation students bring to the university.
Operation Registration
Operation Registration brings campus offices together to help students understand and resolve barriers that may prevent them from registering for the next semester.
Students can receive help with advising, financial aid, billing, holds, registration, and other questions in one coordinated setting.
Shared initiatives require shared commitment.
These events and programs are possible because people across UNM and the community contribute their time, knowledge, funding, space, and support.
