Integrated Programs
College Enrichment & Outreach Programs brings together federally funded, institutionally supported, self-sustaining, and donor-supported programs that help students and families move through important points in the educational journey.
Each program has its own focus, eligibility, funding structure, and services. Together, these programs help expand access to higher education, support students as they transition into UNM, and strengthen pathways toward graduation and future opportunities.

College Prep Programs
Students Served: Middle school and high school students, families, and community partners.
Primary Focus: Early college awareness, youth outreach, and college readiness.
College Prep Programs promotes higher education to youth across New Mexico by creating opportunities for students to experience campus, explore college pathways, and begin seeing higher education as possible.

Educational Opportunity Center
Students Served: Adults seeking to enter or continue postsecondary education.
Primary Focus: College access, admissions guidance, financial aid navigation, and GED/postsecondary pathways.
The Educational Opportunity Center helps adults and community members explore options for higher education and take the next steps toward college, training, or degree completion.

New Student Orientation
Students Served: Incoming first-year, transfer, returning, online students, families, and student employees who support the orientation experience.
Primary Focus: Student onboarding, transition support, family connection, and early student success.
New Student Orientation welcomes new Lobos and families to UNM while helping students understand expectations, connect with resources, and begin their college experience with confidence.

College Enrichment Program
Students Served: First-generation, low-income, rural, and historically underserved undergraduate students.
Primary Focus: Cohort-based access, transition, belonging, peer learning, and academic support.
The College Enrichment Program is a long-standing UNM initiative that provides structured, cohort-based support to help students access higher education, build community, and continue toward graduation.

Student Support Services
Students Served: Eligible undergraduate students, including first-generation students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students with documented disabilities.
Primary Focus: Academic guidance, individualized student support, persistence, and graduation.
Student Support Services provides structured support to eligible undergraduate students as they navigate college, strengthen academic progress, and continue toward degree completion.

McNair / Research Opportunity Program

The McNair and Research Opportunity Program prepares undergraduate students for research, graduate education, and future master’s and doctoral pathways.
