Our Programs

College Enrichment & Outreach Programs brings together programs and initiatives that support students across the P-20 educational pipeline, from early college awareness and preparation through enrollment, transition, persistence, and graduation. Each CEOP program has its own purpose, student population, and area of focus. Together, they form a connected support system designed to help students access higher education, build confidence, strengthen academic momentum, and move toward graduation and long-term success and opportunities.

Through outreach, orientation, mentoring, tutoring, cohort-based support, individualized guidance, and graduate school preparation, CEOP helps students and families navigate the university experience with greater clarity and support. While our programs are open to all students, CEOP is especially committed to students who are first-generation to college, from low-income backgrounds, from rural communities, and from populations historically underserved in higher education. Through this work, we help remove barriers, strengthen connection, and create clearer pathways to success.

A connected pathway for student access, transition, persistence, and success.

Our work is strengthened through collaboration across the Division of Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, colleges, schools, academic advisors, faculty, staff, families, and community partners. By working together, CEOP helps create a more connected, responsive, and student-centered experience at UNM.

Our pathway includes:

  • College Access & Outreach: Helping students and families explore college options, admissions, financial aid, enrollment steps, and pathways into higher education.
  • Orientation & Transition: Welcoming students and families into the UNM community and helping new Lobos begin with connection, clarity, and confidence.
  • Belonging & First-Year Support: Creating spaces where students build relationships, find community, and develop the confidence to navigate their first year.
  • Academic Support & Persistence: Connecting students to mentoring, tutoring, peer learning, success planning, and support services that strengthen academic momentum.
  • Research & Graduate Pathways: Preparing students for research, graduate education, professional opportunities, and leadership beyond UNM.
